WARNING: Confronting

Footage has emerged of the horrifying moment a Year 7 boy is ganged up on by two other students and bashed in a school toilet.

The boy, who only began at Adelaide’s Golden Grove High School this year, is cornered by a bigger student.

Background voices are heard encouraging the taller child to “hit him” and “go again”.

“Look at him bro, he’s dead as,” they continue to jeer.

“It’s called a f***ing punch, do it … one good hit.”

The offending student then begins punching and pushing the student in the corner repeatedly, before the boy is seen slumping onto the floor.

“Just say sorry,” the schoolkid yells, to which the boy getting punched responds with: “Sorry for what?”

The student is asked to “say sorry” multiple times throughout the attack.

The incident reportedly happened on Monday and the perpetrators involved in the attack have been suspended. SA Police confirmed its aware of “four incidents” involving Golden Grove High School and are working with staff and students in investigating the incidents.

In another video, a teacher is seen attempting to break up a brawl between two male students, one of which was pushed to the ground.

Speaking to InDaily, one parent said staff failed to protect her daughter, who was bulled for six months.

She was particularly distressed at an incident in which her daughter was targeted by three other students who “pinned her up against a wall and smashed her head into the wall”. However, her daughter was suspended alongside her bullies.

“She fell on the floor and when the teachers came over she was laying on the floor and got suspended. The three girls and my daughter were suspended,” said the mum, who remained anonymous.

Three of these fights were recorded and occurred on school grounds, despite the ban on phones implemented by the state’s Education Department.

“No one has been charged with any offending at this time and police continue to investigate the incidents,” a spokesperson for SAPOL said.

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas also announced that there was “clearly” a “need for action” in order to curb the school’s “deplorable violence”.

A former principal would be bought in to “provide independent advice to the department,” and security guards also be bought in to patrol the school grounds from the next week. Parents and families will also have access to a liaison officer, and a specialist behaviour coach will also be available for students.

“Images of violence on school grounds horrifies every parent, myself included,” he said.

“Parents and students have the right expect that schools aren’t just a safe environment, but also a nourishing one, which is why as Premier, I have made it clear I expect serious effort to deliver improvement for staff, students and parents.”

This is the third major controversy that’s hit the Adelaide school this year. In May, Principal Peter Kuss made the announcement that toilet entrance doors would be removed from the bathrooms, with parents raising issues around privacy.

A month later in June, the school was rocked by another bullying incident. TikTok video emerged of students being rated for their appearance. The videos featured the school’s logo and described students as the “biggest sl**s,” “biggest flops,” and “wannabees, The Adelaide Advertiserrevealed.
