Father and two children dead in horror NSW ute crash

Publish date: 2024-05-28

A tragic car crash has claimed the lives of a father and his two children.

Lance Danks-Brown, 43, and his two children, Kayden, 14, and Sharna, 11, were travelling south of Grafton, NSW, on Saturday night when their ute unexpectedly veered off the road near Coutts Crossing and hit a tree.

All three died at the scene.

The devastating loss has left their mother, Tania Brown, grief-stricken and heartbroken. In a poignant post, she paid tribute to her beloved children, acknowledging that no words could ever make the situation okay.

Ms Brown shared a touching photo of Kayden and Sharna in their school uniforms, prompting an outpouring of condolences from friends and family, including Mr Danks-Brown’s partner, Amie Pithers, with whom he had been in a relationship since January 2021.

“No words will ever make this ok. But I love you x,” Ms Pithers wrote.

“I am totally lost for words because there are none that can take away the pain,” one person wrote under the post.

Mr Danks-Brown’s Facebook page showed a photo of Kayden performing a jump on a dirt bike and another of the father smiling with Ms Pithers.

Despite the prompt arrival of emergency services at the scene of the crash, all three occupants of the car passed away on impact when they collided with a tree.

Authorities have established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the accident.

Anyone with dashcam footage or information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
