10 Celebrity Couples Who Have Lasted Way Longer Than We Thought

Hollywood is full of beautiful couples.  However, it is no secret that many of these relationships will not be able to withstand the ultimate test: time.  Shockingly, it is often the couples that seem to be the most compatible that ultimately end up going their separate ways. As a result, many are skeptical whenever news breaks that two stars have decided to get together. Although it can be difficult for celebrities to build and maintain healthy relationships, it is always nice to see a happy success,  especially when the odds were against them from the beginning.  Here are 10 celebrity couples who have lasted way longer than we thought.

Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting

There’s something about Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting’s relationship that just didn’t give the impression of staying power.  Perhaps it is because they were engaged within just three months of knowing each other. However, to the surprise of many, Cuoco and Sweeting seem to be in it for the long haul.  The couple married in 2013, and according to sources, they are trying to agree on the most appropriate time to have children.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel look great together, but everyone knows that looks aren’t enough to keep a couple together. When Biel and Timberlake began dating in 2007, many did not foresee the couple’s relationship blossoming into marriage. However, despite the naysayers, the couple seems to be doing extremely well, and in February 2015 they announced that they are expecting their first child.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are a bit of an unlikely couple.  When they married in 1997, many believed they would fall apart like countless famous couples before them.  However, nearly two decades later, the their relationship appears to be stronger than ever.  During an interview in 2014, Broderick gave insight into the couple’s lasting relationship stating: “Keep talking I guess, I know how cliché that is. Too much silence is definitely not a good idea.”

Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green

When Brian Austin Green was at the peak of his career, Megan Fox, like girls her age, was probably at home watching him on the hit series, Beverly Hills, 90210, and wishing she could one day be his wife.  In 2010 that dream became a reality when the couple married at a private ceremony in Hawaii. With their 13 year age difference, many just didn’t see the couple lasting.  However, the couple has now been married for five years, and have two adorable children together.

Sean Penn and Charlize Theron

Sean Penn has had several high-profile relationships throughout his career. After his divorce from actress Robin Wright in 2010, many had written Penn off as a lost cause.  In the summer of 2014, news began to spread that Penn and actress Charlize Theron were dating, and people immediately began to weight-in on when the couple would split.  However, Penn and Theron are still going strong with no foreseeable end in sight. In January 2015, Penn shared that he could definitely see himself marrying Theron, and stated: “To run into somebody now who you care about is a much passionate, deeper, truer and – God! – a much happier feeling. It’s a lot more romantic and a lot more fulfilling to be in a relationship and to think you’re a good person within it.”

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott seem to have had issues since the start of their relationship.  When the couple began dating, Spelling was fighting off allegations that she was a “home wrecker,” as a result of the affair she had with McDermott while he was still married.  When Spelling and Dean married in 2010, things seemed to be turning around for the couple.  However, in 2013, reports began to surface that McDermott had cheated on Spelling.  Subsequently, their relationship became one of the main story lines for their reality TV series, True Tori.  Although the couple is still working to fix their issues, they are still together and have not announced any plans to permanently separate.

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick

When Scott Disick began appearing on the reality TV series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, fans were instantly put-off by his rude and arrogant demeanor.  Although viewers have since warmed up to Disick, many still believe that Kourtney Kardashian is simply too good for him.  Although the couple has three children together, Disick’s refusal to marry Kardashian has many people thinking an eventual split is pending.

Ben Foster and Robin Wright

Ben Foster and Robin Wright began dating in 2012, two years after her divorce from Sean Penn.  Many in the public were immediately skeptical of the couple’s relationship. In January 2014, the couple announced their engagement; however, nobody was shocked when they called off their engagement just a few months later.  In 2015, after reconciling, Foster and Wright again announced their engagement, but have not yet set a date for the wedding.

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian are one of the most talked about couples in reality TV. Many have been critical of the couple because supposedly began seeing each other while Cibrian was still married. Because their relationship began in an unsavory way, many believe that a split is inevitable. However, Rimes and Cibrian seem to be enjoying their lives together, and show no signs of calling it quits.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are one of the most unlikely celebrity couples.  Both Kardashian and West have less than stellar track records when it comes to relationships, and West usually seems too preoccupied with himself to really commit. As a result, very few people predicated they would last more than a couple of months.  Even after the announcement of Kardashian’s pregnancy, most people still thought the relationship would fall apart.  However, the couple who married in 2014, seem to be genuinely happy with their decision to spend a lifetime together.
